Does my truck have torsion bars and can I use them to lift my truck?

I have a 1996 chevy suburban 1500 4x4. I want to lift it a little not much just need a little more clearance. I was wondering, does my truck have torsion bars and can I use them to lift my truck? I'm not a mechanic so I have no idea. I'm trying to find the cheapest way. My neighbor said I could block the front as well as the back, is that true?
