my fiance pays child support through the state of alabama. Alabama uses the shared income method for determining said support. He has never been late on a payment since i've know him and he often time gives his ex more when she asks for it. The last time we saw her she threw a fit when he said no he would not give her money. She was asking him to send his daughter to a religious summer camp that is very expensive and it is a religion he does not subscribe to and in fact he finds it ridiculous. She started on about money like exs will do and was demanding financial records so she could determine if he was paying enough. Again he said no, but he would be happy to turn his records over to a lawyer or attorney general. (I thought that was really weird - that she thought SHE could determin how much she was entitled to) Anyway, my big problem with her is that she wants more child support for day care when she does not work. I know alabama will take the need for daycare into consideration, but she has no job. She wants it so she can continue her education. I think this is unfair! Why should he pay more money so she can go back to school? He doesn't get to go back to school. I think she should get a dang job!! has anyone encountered this type of situation? Will his ex actually be able to claim more for daycare even though she has no job?
