Now, don't get me wrong, I think Stephenie Meyer is a great storyteller and I read the whole Twilight Saga and I became engrossed in each one of them.
However, as I'm reading other vampire books that were published before the first Twilight book, I'm starting to see a lot of similarities. Now, I know the vampire genre isn't exactly new and it's hard to keep something relatively fresh BUT it seems to me that she copied and pasted a lot of existing ideas from such books and put her own little tiny spin on it and called it her own.
I just find it a little annoying. I believe she's lucky for her novels to stand out as opposed to the novels that are in the same category because it's a tough genre to compete in but I just think it's a little bit... uncool.
Thoughts?
