religious groups? Sorry, I wanted to make clear in the title that I meant in North America but I ran out of room!

They kind of do in Great Britain, but many atheists and agnostics wonder why such a small and declining section of society have such a large influence. But I think every body is entitled to their opinion, and just wondered how scientists and religious groups in America got along. What about fertility treatment for example?

We have ethics committees but they don't necessarily target religious groups. They just discuss ethics and do what is right without religion. It does not take religion and mythical gods to do what is right.
