I really want a new phone and have been looking for used ones on ebay. I would like to get a phone from a different cell phone provider, just not actually change my cell phone provider. I'm wondering if the sim card on my tmobile phone would work on any other phone. I do know that verizon wouldn't work becuase they don't use sim cards (correct me if I'm wrong).

No you can't use t-mobile sim in any new phones if it is locked to some other GSM network providers like AT&T ,cingular until you unlock it ...You can easily unlock the phone using sites like Unlock-Free.com here they are generating network unlock code for some older mobile models at free of cost .Else if you want to unlock some other new model phone then visit sites like Unlock-Zone.com here they are rendering network unlock code for all mobile models at reliable cost .After unlocking it you can freely use it with any GSM sim .If you purchase phone from verizon then sure you can't use t-mobile sim in it even after unlocking it since phone locked with cdma network providers can't be used with any GSM sim even after unlocking it vise verse for CDMA ..
