(but did not arrive? Does this statement exclude PWD who is only being carried upon leaving the location (but did not arrive in the car) from using a handicapped parking space.
some people have stated that a the person with the disability must be in the car when it arrives--NOT ONLY TO BE CARRIED upon leaving the location..
some have cited their PREFERENCE that the driver circles around and parks far away and them move the car curbside (where it may be illegal stopping) to pick up---indicating that is the LAW....there is an assumption that the PWD does not need help (maybe carrying packages) back to the car and can tolerate standing curbside.....or if they sit inside---then the drive may have to wait and block traffic for a long time for the PWD to make their way curbside...not to mention curbside might not be compatible with a rear entry ramp..
DOES THIS QUOTE FROM A LAW SAY THAT THE PWD MUST BE IN THE CAR WHEN IT ARRIVES AT THE LOCATION...or ACCORDING TO THIS LAW....can a car use handicapped parking (with a placard) WHEN PICKING UP A PWD TO CARRY THEM HOME.
"Vehicles bearing a special license plate may not use parking spaces reserved for persons with disabilities when such vehicles are not being operated by or carrying as a passenger the blind person or a person with disabilities to whom the special license plate was issued."
THIS QUESTION IS SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE LAW QUOTED---not to comment on a specific issue raised in another question.
