Does Unemployment have a way to find out one has traveled outside U.S.?

I have an ex-coworker who is traveling outside the country because of an emergency and he is thinking of taking the chance of not telling UI about his trip. When he scans his passport will he be flagged at the Unemployment dept? I know they can check wages from other states, but check to see if one has traveled outside the U.S.?
