Living in Tonga, there is a dog who has an abscess on his back leg, right on the joint. It is very large and sore and nobody is able to get near him to help fix it. Is there any medication we could give him (disguised in food) to help make it better? Are we able to give him human meds as we have easy access to these and it is harder to get hold of animal meds.

You could hide a broad spectrum antibiotic in his food.
I don't know what is available in Tonga. Clavulox which is vet medicine is the same as Augmentin Duo (amoxicillin and clavulonic acid).
You would have to work out the rate of dosage by having a guess at the weight of the dog. I dose my adult Rottweiler at the human adult rate.

All the best with trying to help this dog.
