downgrading iphone 3G from version 4.0.2 to the 3.1?

well i want to downgrade it, and i have searched on google, but i still don't get it.
I want to downgrade it, not cause i want to jailbreak as i can't upgrade my itunes.
i have the macbook pro. so what should i do?
help anyone? please?
