My permit expired on December 22nd of last year, so its only been about 2 months. What I am wondering is though it expired for the first time, when I go to get it renewed will I have to retake my computer/written test? Cause I was told my a few people that since I let it expire I have to retake that test and I just wanted to make sure. Cause I really dont want to have to retake the test.
I live in PA
The DMV site says that I would have to but the only related question they have on the site to this is having the permit, having taken the skills test(failing) and then have the permit expire. I haven't once taken my skills test cause i was waiting to take it with my driver's ed teacher.

Well, since its expired it means that you've had it for a year and can therefore get your license now. its kinda funny, but you don't actually have to a valid permit to take your driving exam.
as far as i know, i didn't have to re-take my test. mine expired a month or two before i took my driver's test and got my license, and i was told that i shouldn't bother renewing it since it wouldn't have been that long before i'd get my license.
