I'm using windows XP, and I am unable to write anything on a blank CD. I did the microsoft troubleshooting, and it says "Drive is not capable of burning (optiarc DVD RW AD 7201s)

the problem is, I have ALWAYS burned CD's on this same computer. Is my CD drive gone?
When I click on "My computers" I only see "DVD RAM Drive (K:)", shouldnt there be something that says CD Drive or something? It's also not in the device manager.

Was it deleted? If so, how? and how can I get it back?
someone please help! I am desperate.

Don't panic. DVD RAM Drive is normal, as it indicates your computer recognizes your drive as a disk drive. How long have you had it? Your drive may have rust in it. How long do you keep your computer on? The hotter something is, the faster it rusts. Rust can increase a circuit's resistance to electricity. This can cause things to run at a lower rate, such as a motor running slower, or stop it entirely, like sticking a stick in a bicycle tire.
