DVD/RW Issues - cannot resolve.?

My CD/DVD drive WILL burn either, but will NOT read either. In addition, no external storage (SD/flash) will read. They are all recognized but my laptop is unable to read from these drives. I've removes the filers from the registry and I'm still stuck. Drivers have been re-installed. A point in the right direction would be fantastic. Thanks.
 
Tweaking the registry probably didn't help you out too much. I'd check the media to make sure it was okay, and then if it's a big enough deal to you, reinstall the OS.
