The HPA is aware of an E. coli incident involving seeds in France and so far no cases have been reported in the UK associated with this outbreak. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is leading on the investigation of this incident and has advised that as a precaution all sprouted seeds should only be eaten if they have been cooked thoroughly until steaming hot throughout; they should not be eaten raw. We will continue to work closely with the FSA to assist with this investigation...
