E51 updated firmware .. now having problems .. please help?

I updated my Nokia E51 firmware to the latest update (3.xx) ... and now I can't access the Wifi from my mobile ... also the standby programs stopped appearing (the ones at the top of the standby screen) ... I tried everything

so does anyone know how to get around this problem ... I would prefer an action that doesn't format or erase the data on my phone ...

PLEASE HELP
