Im the vocalist in an alt-metal cover band.. What we cover (Tool, Alice in Chains, APC, Dream Theater, etc.) pretty much requires backing vocals to sound the way it should. The problem being my other band mates not speaking a word in english.
Rather than bring in someone else Im looking for a vocal effects processor capable of duplicating a voice over different intervals to turn my voice into a 3 part Backing-harmony.
NOW THE QUESTION.. Im looking for a handheld use of operating it. Rather than pre-programming and running the show with a click-track, is there a way to do such effects in real-time? Im imagining a footswitch for changing major settings, and a handheld device for fine tuning? Think with multiple triggers for different intervals. EX: Holding a trigger to get the same vocal a fifth over the main note?
Where can I find such a thing/Commission one made?
PS: I dont own a keyboard, Ive heard its the easiest way to go but the kind of show we put on doesnt afford me to stay behind a stationary instrument.
