Echo on line using sat nav bluetooth - Please help !?

Ok - I bought a Garmin Nuvi 310 sat nav at the weekend. I really wanted one with bluetooth as I havent got a handsfree kit on my car. So, when I make a call using it, I can hear the other person fine but they say they can hear themselves echoing back on the line. It's really annoying for them and I end up having to hang up, pull over and call them just on the handset. Have you had this problem and if so, do you know what to do about it? Please dont say get a hands-free kit !
 
My cousin had the same problem he took it back to halfords and they sorted it out for him I think he said it was the volume control, on it faulty or something like that.

But I suggest you take it back to he shop were you got it from and explain to them what the problem is they should either exchange it or fix the problem for you.
