I couldn't help but notice a couple of days ago that "Alwafd" party was airing ads on Dream tv which was pretty surprising to me to be honest! It left an impression that the crack down on the opposition was begining to fade if even a little bit.
But as always, the ruling party never failed to surprise me, we woke up to the whole "Alwafd" dilemma who were denied the chance to run their ads in the state-owned television and were given some lamea$$ excuses by the head of the institution, restoring my faith in the ruling party as the dictator we all know and love.
So in light of recent events, my questions are:
1) Does politics even remotely interest you?Do you believe it plays a role in our day to day life?
2) Have you or would you ever consider joining a political party? Are you a member of one already?
3) Do you own a voting card?If not, do you plan on getting one to vote in the upcoming elections?
This last stunt pulled by the state-owned television really pissed me off!! I was harbouring this glimpse of hope that the upcoming elections will be as democratic as our elections can be. The hope is burning out real fast! :S
