I am looking for a good online dating site that takes it kinda seriously. I am almost 32 years old and I'm tired of playing dating games. I think it's time that I find someone who I am meant to be with and I'm compatible with. My research has showed eharmony & match.com as being the 2 best sites for serious online dating but I'm just trying to figure which one to give my money to. I know there are free sites but I don't mind paying as long as I get good results from it. I believe you get what you pay for and therefore you're not gonna get much for free.

eHarmony had a free weekend last week and I had some good matches but there all kinda far away so I'm thinking about trying match.com now or do you think I should stick with eHarmony. eharmony has gotton some poor reviews lately cause they don't show you any pictures until you pay for it but i don't know what to do. Please help.

I've tried both, and had infinitely better results with Match.com.

The problem with eHarmony is their "guided communication" process, when it's mixed with their business model. When you're a paying customer, and want to communicate with someone who's "checking their matches for free," the other person has to decide if they want to cough up a bunch of money to answer a handful of prefabricated questions that you sent them. The response rate is therefore very low.

Even if you get to the point where you're communicating with a paying customer, you have to go through several back-and-forth volleys of canned questions before you actually get to send a note to your match.

By this time, you're down to nothing. So eHarmony compensates by flooding you with "flexible matches." These are people who usually live far, far away and have nothing whatsoever in common with you.

I was with eHarmony for three months, and never met anyone face to face. With Match.com, I was dating frequently (and enjoyably!) within days. Good luck!
