Hi, I am in Canada and I assume that US and Canadian electrical codes are similar. So here's my issue. I am renovating my old house that I bought 3 months ago. I have removed the old kitchen cabinets and want to install the new ones. The new cabinets are taller than the previous ones. Right above the old cabinets is the electrical box for door bell low voltage electrical box. If I put my new cabinets the electrical box will be barried under. Please tell me if this is allowed under the elecrical code. I am going to run 3 small wires from the electrical box to another location on the same wall and cover the electrical box with a cover plate flush to the drywall and put the cabinets over it. I am going to install the door bell on the new location that I choose. So is this allowed under the electrical code? Thanks in advance.
