I had thousends of songs downloaded from EMULE that i put on a file on the external hardrive to free up some space on my computer. QUESTION when i rename songs already in the file or when i add new songs from emule to the ext. drive how can i put them in alphabet order? click/drag yes but is there way to set it so it does this automaticly? sometimes i have 10-20 new songs at a time. (music match music file/MP3)
using dell computer, windows XP, iogear ext. hardrive (ION tri-select).

what application do you want to sort the files in?

If you are viewing the folder that contains the files, you can alphabetise them by clicking on the NAME tab under the buttons (and address bar if you have set your folder options to view address bar). Similarly, you can sort by date by clicking on the DATE MODIFIED tab.

If this is what you want to do then all you have to do is tell the folder to remember its settings and then each time you open it the list will be alphabetised.

Say you want to go to a title starting with 'K', you don't have to use the scroll bar to scroll through thousands of files. Just click once on any file and press K.

Hope this helps. If its a different application you want to alphabetise the view of you will need to post the details of that in your question.
