ERI banner on Samsung Intensity?

I've been turning the ERI banner on and off on my Verizon Samsung Intensity, but my home screen doesn't look any different when the banner is set to on or off.

Am I missing something here?
 
The VZW Samsung Intensity (SCH-U450) isn't supposed to have a service provider banner. Best thing to do, is see if there is a software update for your phone, or call 1 800-922-0204 from another phone (other than the one you have) and ask for tech support.
