I reformatted my Windows XP and I set everything up, now i needed my internet. My cable modem and everything were already set up because I have 2 other computers that still uses the same modem.

I have to run the modem install again right? because my computer doesn't read the modem. When I run the program it tests it to see if I have the requirements it says I'm missing an Ethernet Card but it was working fine before I reformatted it.

Can anyone help?

Additional Info:
My Cable Modem is the Motorola SB5100 SURFboard
and I also have the SMC Barricade SMC7004VWER
they're connected together
how can i reinstall my ethernet card?

Install the Ethernet card driver. The problem is not with your Cable Modem or the other devices. You need to get your ethernet in shape first.

You might have to reinstall you ethernet card/adapter for your operating system to recognize it again. Then reinstall the modem software and you should be good to go
