Evan Longoria is already a rich man. And now he’s going to get even richer. The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Longoria to a ten-year extension for a total of $100 million. This latest extension adds six more years to Longoria’s current deal.

Longoria is thrilled that he will be able to play the rest of his career in Tampa Bay.

“My goal from Day 1 was to be the first player that played their whole career here, to be the first guy that came into the organization and went out in the organization, and played all the years in between,” he said. “There’s no better place for me.”

Although he has battled injuries in recent seasons, he’s still a world class third baseman. Last season, he hit .289 with 17 homers and 55 RBIs.
