I have to do a paper for sociology about a self-fulfilling prophecy that happened to me, but would I even know if I had a self-fulfilling prophecy? I mean, it requires my having a false definition of something and so would I have even realized that definition was false? So, idk, I just need examples of COMMON self-fulfilling prophecies.

I don't want the story of Oedipus or how you were scared your house would catch on fire and it did. COMMON examples that happens to most people. I know one example is the girl who tells herself she's fat and she gains weight, but that's never happened to me. Anything else?

usually rejusing to do something because you will fail is the most common. however there is also the :" if i do one thing, it will turn out i should have done another. you end up doing the wrong thing.

Waking up feeling like you are going to have a terrible day, and you do.
Telling yourself you can't pass a test and failing.

If someone is convinced they will fail an exam they usually will as it knocks their confidence in their knowledge and they assume the answer they think is right is wrong because they believe they dont know what they are on about
