Expired Passport, I need to travel within the United States. Can I?

I'm 15, a citizen of the U.S., and my passport expired under 4 years ago. I have no other forms of identification, and I need to fly from Connecticut to Florida for a school trip. The only other thing I have is my birth certificate, and I don't know if that helps. I need to hand in some sort of ID in 3 days. What can I do?
 
You don't need a passport to travel within the United States, especially if you are a US citizen. Your birth certificate should be fine.
