I have a mazda mx3, and have had it for several years. The entire time I've owned it, neither passenger's side nor driver's side shoulder strap has worked. The motor must have burnt out, or something like that.
My question is, is there a possible way to move the strap from where it is (near my head) back towards where it is safer, and will actually do me some good?
I took it to a mechanic and was told it would be a few hundred dollars to replace the motor, and I'm not looking to pay that, but need to be able to at least jerry rig it so that it can be in a safer place when driving.
If there's a website or anything you know of that might show me the set-up of a motorized seat belt, that would help.
Thanks so much.
