Even though Jose Mourinho watched from a hotel room as his Real Madrid side got knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona, his old wine buddy has already gone to him for secrets on how to beat the Catalans. Hoping for the exact opposite of what happened when Manchester United lost to Barca in the 2009 Champions League final, Sir Alex Ferguson sought the advice of the man who knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League last season and beat them in the Copa del Rey final this year (his, uh, only win against them in five matches).

From the Telegraph:

"I speak to him quite a lot and I spoke to him last week," Ferguson said, when asked about Mourinho. "Real Madrid are a different team from us so I think we will depend on our own knowledge of Barcelona. But the experience that Real Madrid have and from Jose's angle - you always take information from that because he's always very helpful like that."

So what information did Jose give Sir Alex? Here are the key points...

-Have a portable DVD player handy to keep yourself entertained while they maintain possession for 97 percent of the match.

-Don't be at all concerned about the well-being of Sergio Busquets when he falls down clutching his face. He's fine.

-Believe it or not, it really helps when you play an entire match against them with 11 men. (Trust me.)

-Just stay in your hotel room during the match, because the Barcelona/UEFA/UNICEF conspiracy will crush you like they do the hunger of starving children.
