My friend had three ferrets, one died due to eating something (she escaped just before she became really ill so they think she got ill from that.) Anyway, before her ferret died, she was in the process of adopting a female. So after a while and once they found out what she's died from they picked up this new little girl. She's been on her own for a while and the other ferrets are about 1 year. So including the new rescued one (Rio) she has 1 male (Tango) 1 female (Pepsi) and of course Rio. She put them in different cages because Rio had recently been spayed although most her stitches had healed. after all the stitches had healed (a couple of days) she put them together in a relatively neutral place (Her ferrets had been all over the house so no where was totally neutral, but this was the best room) and set them down. Tango and Pepsi seemed to fight Rio. They didn't draw blood, but there was high pitched yelp/barks and hissing. they kinda wriggled around each other apparently but it wasn't too bad because there was plenty to occupy them. Yesterday, she let them out together and this time Rio was the one with the upper hand. Tango seemed a little scared of her and so did Pepsi. Still no blood drawn but all this fighting is making her nervous. She then read on this site that ferrets are more or less impossible to introduce together and that if they don't hit off straight away, then they never will. So now she's really worried and is begging for any tips because she finds it sad to see Rio alone (they're still in seperate cages) and she really does want them to get along. So any tips would be really helpful. Also my ferret seems to be a bit skinnier than the others, so some links to pics or some way of knowing if he is or not becoming a bit skinnier. Thanks ^.^ xx
