fiat punto engine management light?

Hi everyone. What reason could there be for my engine management light to be on? The car in question is a x reg fiat punto 1200 elx 8 v.
 
This could be any number of sensor problems in the engine management system. you will connect your cars diagnostic port to a fault code reader or laptop with obd software to diagnose the fault on your car. Any good garage can do this for you for around £50.
