file sharing over internet (broad band)?

i would like to share file with my friend over internet having broadband connection and same operating system(both of us have it) without downloading any software could it be possible

there are several file hosting sites:
yousendit.com (only stores for 7 days)
rapidshare.com
megaupload.com (my personal favorite)

You just upload whatever file you want to share, then give that person the link and he/she can download it, no software needed.
