say you have a fiance, and the first year you are together (not engaged yet, but are so close and in love you might as well be) he has a vacation planned to take his daughters for 2 weeks to visit their country and stay with family... origionally, you were supposed to go, but ultimately, it just wasnt the right time... while he is gone, he promises you that he will never take another vaca w/o you! and you were upset you couldnt go on this one, but understood... he promises and swears to god he will never go w/o you again...
well, year 2, you are engaged, but still not living together, but do spend all of your time together with each others families and what not... the trip to their country is being planned, we are both laid off of work... his father pays for the tickets for him and his kids... so again so far, you are left out of this vaca... if you happen to get a job and can pay for a ticket, you can go, but otherwise, your fiance has just started working again and has bills and kids to take care of, so he cant help right now.. and you 2 dont talk about it because it seems that there is a possibility he will be going, yet again, w/o you! would you be upset? what would you do, or say? how would you react?
and on top of it, they will be going away for 3 weeks!!! his dad paid for the tickets on accrued credit air miles...
but think about it, if we were married, he certainly wouldnt take the trip w/o me? and he promised he wouldnt go w/o me.. now, i'm not gonna make him feel guilty, in fact, i have definately been holding my feelings in about this, i just dont think its fair! if we cant all go, i dont think that anyone should be left behind.. i wouldnt do it to him!
