renounce their teachings...? For non-Christians, what is an explanation for how Christ's disciples refused to renounce their teachings, even when threatened with death?
Is it really true that they had the option of renouncing their beliefs or were they just going to be killed anyway for what they taught, whether they renounced them or not?
What evidence do we have to support the claim that they really had the option of renouncing their beliefs?
I've had many people who answered similar questions say, for instance, "Your question is like asking, 'if Judaism isn't the truth, then why did so many people die rather than convert to Christianity?" My questions is about the people who started a religion, not the ones following a religion. Would Jim Jones have died rather than renounce what he had taught?
