I'm writing a currently untitled story about vampires. Don't let the "vampire" part of that sentence turn you off- it won't be like any vampire books that are out there right now (Twilight, gack). I have thought of two possible plots for it.

a) A group of terrorist vampires come and attack a high school, and four kids- a jock, a geek, a popular girl, and a girl who doesn't fit into any high school social class- must go to the vampire's realm to save the day.

That first one began to sound really cheesy while I was writing it, so I came up with a new plot.

b) A mysterious vampire comes to a high school, but hasn't told anybody what he was yet. After a set of mysterious events at their high school and in the religious community, four high school students are locked in a mystery of murder, theft, danger, and secrets about the real reason that Christianity was formed, and about how vampires are linked to it. I will blend fact with my own creations for this book, so not all of it will be true.

Please tell me if plot a or b is better, or if I should just drop the whole idea.
