For the christians who beleive in tithing..may i ask u this?

my pastor says that to be blessed u have to tithe..so he does know about this situation..Can this be right?..there is alot of disabled in our church..this 1 girl is on SSI and he told her she has to tithe for God..she does..she gives 10 percent first thing..every month she seems to get deeper in the hole..and around town she picks up cans and finds wire to sell so she has food and can pay her electric..My pastor on the other hand lives in a nice home and his wife is always in new clothes...they hold no other job...does this stink? and does this help the kingdom of God?
