experience with me? 1. How did you become interested in Judaism?
2. Can you explain why Jews are so family oriented? Did converting make you feel like you had a family?
3. What was the conversion process?
4. How did you know that you had found the right temple?
5. What was yoru first meeting with the rabbi like?

1. A Taste of Judaism class
2. Judaism is a family oriented because Judaism is a communal religion. Yom Kippur is a day when we ask forgiveness from God as a community as well as individuals. Yes, I feel that I am a part of the Jewish community. Orthodox and Conservative Jews do not *believe* that I am a real Jew, but they treat me as if I were a real Jew. I don't receive honors in their communities, but I am certainly welcome to attend any of their functions.
3. I took classes and studied for more than a year (and also visited Israel); I met with three rabbis and assured them that I was aware of the negatives of being a Jew (anti-Semitism, etc.) and "why" I wanted to become a Jew; I immersed myself in the Mikveh; and I was introduced to the congregation by three rabbis before a Friday night service.

It's a process to be embraced, not to avoid!
