Currently I'm researching cars that could potentially be my first. I'm trying to make a short list of about 5 or so cars to really look into. For those who have driven/owned one or both of these cars, I have a few questions for you.
Which one has more leg room in the front? I'm a fairly tall person and I have long legs. About 2 months ago I drove my grandmother's Ford Focus, and found that it didn't have nearly enough leg room for me. I felt really squished in the leg area.
How are these for reliability? I need a car that is going to start for me in the winter, and not break down on me. Even on the coldest days. I live in Minnesota, so it gets very cold here.
What kind of gas mileage do they get? I have a job that is about 25 miles away from where I live. So I will need a car with good gas mileage.
Once I get my license in April I will be driving my parent's cars for a few months while I research and look for cars.
The years I am looking at are 1997-2001 for the Escort, and 1997-2000 for the Taurus.
The last question I have is, which car do you feel is best overall, for a teen driver?
