I have one explorer currently, a 1998. Now I'm thinking of getting a 2005 to drive more often, and to drive further distances. Now I want you opinion on is this a manly SUV? On the 05, I'd plan to put a lift, new wheels, bull bar/grille guard on it. So what you think?
Don't diss the explorer... If you're going to give me a smart a** remark keep it to yourself. Even if you want to call it a soccer mom car go ahead, but if you're going to say this "It may be cheaper to get a t-shirt that says you have undersized genitals." KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!!

What you are building is called a "compensator". It may be cheaper to get a t-shirt that says you have undersized genitals.

Definitely not manly.
I would view an SUV that has off-road capabilities, good towing capacity and/or a rugged look as 'manly'.
The Explorer is adequate, but not one of the better SUV's out there.
