Ford Focus Vs Toyota Corolla?

Should i buy a 2009 toyota corolla or a 2009 ford focus? My family had a ford escort die on them after only 7 years, of hard use though. Well i cant decide what would be a better choice. The corolla is 18,000 the ford is 17000. What to choose..
well i just herd back from the dealer, and he said a 7% apr and 338 a month! take it? its from Ford

In my opinion, I think you should go with the Toyota Corolla, and here is why.

1. Toyota's last longer than any other cars
2. Toyota's doesn't need as much maintenance as american cars do
3. All over the world, Toyota spare parts are the most common. So if you need to replace a piece of your engine. You don't have to wait a couple of days for your mechanic to order the part from another city.
4. Toyota's have a higher re-sale value.
