Ford SuperDuty - O/D Light Blinks and then Engine Stalls?

I know I am having some tranny issues because my O/D light blinks at times. The shifting is not too bad. Not rough, but every time I slow down the light will blink on the shifter.

Today it started to blink, and while I was standing on the brakes at the intersection light, the engine stalls. I restart the truck, and the diesel motor fired right back up in park. I put it back in gear, and it stalls again.

I shift into second gear, and the engine stayed running. Once I got on the highway, I put it back in drive and everything was fine. It shifted well and into overdrive without slipping or shifting rough.

I cannot figure out what caused the stall. I am going to check the speed sensors this weekend on the rear-end and tranny.
I dropped the pan less than 5k miles ago for all new fluids and a new filter.

Speed sensors should have nothing to do with it.

Have you checked your fluid yet?

It does sound like your torque converter is locking up, as you say you were standing on the brakes. I would try changing the fluid and filter in the transmission.
