I've been learning Japanese for a few years from my classmates/neighbors who are from Japan. I can pronounce most sounds fairly easy now except for the Japanese R. I can't do an English or a Japanese R because my accent doesn't have the same clear sound. So like if I say something like "Shira" it sounds more along the lines of shi-wra. My friends say that it's understandable (it just has an accent). So my question is would Japanese speakers/people in Japan get annoyed by not being able to pronounce the R properly? Is it genereally understandable? Are accents annoying in Japanese in general? Please help. Thanks. :)
