I was wondering if some knowledgeable person out there could tell me if the front shocks and springs fitted to the mk2 Punto are the same across the entire range, or whether they vary from one model to another?
The reason I ask is because I have a Fiat Punto JTD ELX (1.9TD) with a noisy shock absorber. I can't currently afford to replace it with a pair of new ones, so I was looking at replacing just the noisy unit with a used one for now. However all the "complete suspension units" I can find on eBay don't specify which model they are from, and when asked, the vendors invariably just say "petrol".
I would have thought that the spring rating, ride height etc would vary depending on the model in question. However now I'm not so sure.
I do need to buy a complete unit (shock and spring) as I don't have the necessary tools to move a spring from one shock to another, so I need to swap the unit "as is".
Can anybody help?
