Gadget guy or gal kitchen magician salad shooter?

Are you a gadget guy or gal. I don't do this any more but I used to buy allot of gadget s not always electronic or high tech I had tons of kitchen gadget maybe I watched to much james bond how about you
 
I used to be a gadget collector. I got tired of all the clutter. I cleaned cabinets and drawers out completely and only put back what I use regularly.

I have been very disappointed with some of the small gadgets when I bring them home--they dont work for me like they do for the guys at the state fair.
 
Hi yes me too.
They always seem so great and real 'must haves' at that time.
Most of them have ended up in charity shops or handed down to someone who also thought they were too good to be true.
Isn't it amazing how great they look on the tele or in a magazine but when you get them home they never perform exactly the way they were portrayed.
 
I'm not much of a gadget person. I find old fashioned things like hand can openers and the like work better. For one thing, gadgets are so time consuming to clean.
 
Never had a salad shooter or even a food processor. A good blender and juicer comes in handy and have worn out the juicer already and one blender. I like my small George Foreman grill, have used it many times and it saves energy by not heating the house. I do buy small non-electronic kitchen gadgets at yard or estate sales and then try to figure out what they are for. One I thought was a meat tenderizer, has 10 round blades, is actually a noodle cutter. A good & heavy pair of kitchen scissors is one of the nicest gadgets around, many uses but the best is cutting up a chicken without cutting up my fingers.
 
I love gadgets. Have inherited this trait from my dear mother. In fact, while clearing out our parents' home for selling ... no one but me wanted to go about collecting these do-dads and take them home for good use in my own kitchen! Some of them are so off-the-wall that you wouldn't even know what the heck they were unless you watched someone use it. I guess I spent lots of time with my mom and got to have many chuckles watching her cook and prep with all her gadgets. Now I get to use them! "Thanks, Ma"
