Ive been saving up for one of the two over the summer and i have enough for a iPad now but will have enough for my pc in like 2 weeks. I am going to build the pc and by my parts from new egg and am spending around 1,000. I do have a macbook right now and a older desktop. I also have an xbox 360. I do enjoy my video games but I'm not an extremely serious gamer i do it for enjoyment. I do like all the perks and stuff you get with pc gaming and i will also be playing SWTOR and other pc only games. Also this computer will be used for other things besides gaming. Now to the iPad I will be browsing reading magazines, COMICS, have my tv shows on it, read a lot on it, apps, movies, and also my school is "iPad friendly" this year so i can use it to take notes and set reminders and other stuff. ALso i am talking about the new iPad and the 32gb version. One more thing taking my macbook pro to school isn't the solution. Its not as handy as the iPad and i like the touchscreen interface and display.
