Getting a name change prior to going on vacation?

Hi here is a short dilemma I have. I want to get my name changed AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The problem is that I will be going on vacation next summer (in approx. 6 months) and I will have to register for a tour I'll be going to in about 2 months. This means that I will NOT have enough time to get a new citizenship certificate OR register for a new passport. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! I'm so lost. Is there a way to get around this? Am I allowed to use my old passport while in the process of my name change?! Someone please help.
