Im a freshman in college and ive never had a gf.......i been anti social most of my life but since ive lost 40 pounds im now much more "myself". anyways. i like this girl alot and she has no clue....i always try to pack my bags slow after class so i can time it so i walk with her :D i know its kinda lame haah. but anyways its like a 10 minute walk from our class to getting outside and in this time i find myself with nothing to say? i mean we have already had small talk so many times im just confused about what to talk about......please help :D
 
i had a guy do the same thing with me..he packed his bags extra slow so that we "kinda left the classroom at the same time"..he was extremely shy...and i knew he was attracted to me bc he kept making eye contact throughout the class period at me...i ended up approaching him right before an exam to see if he wanted to review before the test...

maybe u should do that...right before a test/exam..jus ask if she got everything covered..if she's prepared..have a review packet on hand...jus break the ice in a "classmate" kinda way..and it will go from there...

and just be yourself...there's no point in impressing someone when ur putting on a show :)
 
you should ask her to dinner on like a friday night after class or lunch or anything where you can relax but you wont have the pressure of being alone. or you could take her to a movie so you don't have awkward conversations.
 
I'm just going to try to help you with some stuff to talk about. You said you've had small talk, but have you really gotten to know her? Sometime when you're not with her think about what you don't know about her. What's her major? What does she want to be? If she's a freshman too, ask her where she went to high school. Figure out what you can ask her, keep talking to her after class, and THEN, once you guys can keep up a somewhat steady conversation for ten minutes, you can ask her to go get coffee with you or something like that. Starbucks or somewhere like that is a good first, not too formal, and not so quiet that it's awkward, place for a first date. I'm sure she likes you too, even if you don't know it. So try to keep up your confidence! And congratulations on losing 40 pounds! That's amazing! Good luck with this girl; I'm sure she'll feel lucky that she's the first girl you worked up the courage to ask out. :-)
 
just ask her what some of her interests are
then use that to ask her on a date
like if she likes movies take her to a movie
if she likes poetry find a place that does that
 
Stop putting her on a pedestal and talk to her like you would any of your other friends. You do have other friends, right? Or family? What do you talk to them about?

Just RELAX and talk. Don't worry about blowing it. You will definitely blow it if you DON'T make a move, so you can only gain by trying. If she hasn't dodged you by now she's almost certainly interested. Go for it!
 
First off, congratulations for taking these steps! It's been a while since I was in college (u don't wanna know how long..) but I can remember being shy. I guess what I'd suggest is this.. when I was in college, they had like $2 (okay, so maybe it was $4? it was 30 years ago) movies. How about a simple thing. Ask her to go to (make it a specific one... look up something) to a movie. Keep asking her. Ask. Ask and ASK! Even make a joke out of it (I'm just coveirng bases here..I mean if she says no.) Maybe she doesn't like the damn movies too (who knows? lol) I'd say skip asking her 'out for a beer' (if your state lets u drink when you're a freshman I mean...) at this point. save that one for later. Guess what? I'm female and I can hazard a guess as she's one too she kinda knows you like her, ok? (but don't get shook by that... it's kinda a shock sometimes.) I used to have a couple guys like you that just wanted to 'walk me to class' (and I knew darn well they liked me) but they pulled this 'too shy' thing on me too. I just waited and waited AND waited for them to make some kinda move (movies thing) but after a while? I gave up! (so let that be a lesson to ya.) Also what have ya got to lose too if she says no? (oh wait, I forgot.. u keep asking and asking.. joke about it even when you ask her the l5th time.. lol) This was fun to write. Good luck w/her honey!!!!
 
Find some of her interests. All us women say we don't want flowers but we do... its weird I know but we do it anyways. *shrugs* Maybe she likes history and if she does maybe go somewhere historic and pretty. Maybe dinner and a show. Find out what kind of movie first. I think it would be too soon to ask about the drive through. *laughs* Maybe she likes books. As a woman- we all like poetry... even though some may not read it. May I suggest some Elizabeth Barrett Browning? My husband caught me because he did little romantic stuff in the beginning which you should keep up by the way. He sent me a romantic card with a poem in it every day in the mail. He would send me flowers and chocolate. Live flowers in pretty baskets, and stuffed animals. *laughs* Good luck tiger.
 
I'm a 34 year old "girl" (LOL). I'd say since you've had soooooo much small talk- next time just cut to the chase! She's not stupid & knows your into her- if you stall to talk & walk with her. You might be new to this- but I'm sure she isn't. Respect that she is not "slow" (lol- sorry lack of better words there) & just ask her if she'd like to "grab a bit to eat"! Just that simple and that plain. Doesn't have to be a "date" just a bite to eat! ... BUT make sure you have ideas to talk about (when eating) if she says yes. If she says yes- this will open the door for more than just a walk on campus- if she says no then you know you have to start lookig for other girls to walk across campus. What's her major? Find out and talk about that. Connect it to something you've studies, ask her questions about her interests, etc. Good luck!
 
Classic, ok just reach out your hand friendly like and introduce yourself, strike up a little small talk starting with class, then what she thinks about it, follow with jobs or family and repeat on her concerns, then ask her out to like coffee or lunch where you can really kick it off. Most importantly; listen, if you listen to her you can connect with her better and get to know her, plus girls especially like it. Good luck!
 
You remind me so much of myself last year. Not that that's a bad thing, but DAMN!!! It's just like deja-vu for me.
Alright, YOu've already passed the baby steps( small conversations) Now it's time for the training pants (Longer conversations and impressing her). Just talk to her. Nothing like Will Smith: 'YO baby YO baby YO.' That'll get you smacked like a step-child. Just talk to her like a friend and show her some respect. That word is the bottom line for getting a girl: RESPECT!!
