As a result of this, we have our youth totally brain-washed (massive publicity campaign aimed at kids), tax dollars being hi-jacked for useless projects (not to mention higher taxes), and diversion from more serious issues. The issue of energy scarcity in the future is the real danger, my only issue is using public funds for technologies that are not practical (hydrogen fuel for example), coal and nuclear will give us electricity - no question about it, we will have no choice but to run the world on electricity since it is the most practical on paper, in practice I don't know how well it can be implemented. By the way, global warming is completely natural and driven by solar events, has been this way for millions of years, Earth has been mostly covered in ice throughout history, we are in a lucky period of warming. http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/ice_ages.html
