Gmail POP settings, "Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server." Not...

...working for other gmail account? I used POP settings to add my "work" gmail account to my "personal" gmail account so that all my mail on my prior account would be forwarded to my personal account. Its much easier getting all my mail to one account. The problem is I don't want the messages in my prior account to be saved in the inbox as well as sent to my new account, (i don't want to have to delete them). Once forwarded to my new account, I want them deleted from my old account. I unchecked the box that reads "Leave a copy of retrieved message on server", but copies of messages are still being left in my old account. It's pretty annoying. I even tried deleting the account and re-entering all its information, it still leaves copies of messages in the old account. (these are both gmail accounts). Any help?

The POP server I used under my email is
pop.gmail.com
port 995

If that makes a difference... I believe that's the default. Please help.

RE: Gmail POP settings

you also need to edit the POP/forwarding settings on the account that you are retrieving from to delete messages after they have been retrieved
