google maps stopped in samsung android phone, what to do?

i am having samsung star pro android phone, suddenly my google maps has been stopped. gps is not working in it and it is coming on screen "Unfortunately,Maps has stopped".
what should i do now...??

first of all uninstall it and install a new one from play store. i can know the problem better if u explain briefly.

go to Setting>Application>Manage Application>Maps and clear data and cache....If not yet then try after rebooting. If you are facing this problem after updating it then try uninstalling its update.
