Handheld shower cracked near the fitting?

I have a shower head that's leaking pretty bad near the fitting (right above where it screws on below the actual head). I just happen to have some F4 tape lying around (http://www.amazon.com/F4-Tape-Self-fusing-Silicone-Black/dp/B002LA2258). Would that do the trick or should I just spare myself the hassle and purchase a new one?
 
I know that good ones can be pretty expensive but I'd go ahead and just purchase a new one. You can also get a decent cheaper one for around 25-30.00
 
Jb weld can fix cracks in almost anything $5 at lowes in the super glue section but it not glue
