Has anyone bought a refurbished Iphone?

I'm debating on whether to get the 8gb iphone 3g for 199.99, or a refurbished 16gb for the same price. I have never bought a refurbished anything, and am a little nervous. On AT&T's website they say they have a 90 day warantee on the refurbished phone. If something goes wrong, do they just give you another refurbished one? Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with any apple refurbished products? Thanks for any help...I have been using cheapo phone forever and ready for a good one!
 
If you are buying a refurb through AT&Ts stores, you do get a 90 day warranty on it.

Reburb just means that it's not new - it doesn't NECESSARLY mean it was defective. When phones are returned, even if they were used once, they cannot be resold as new.

So there could be a number of reasons why the phone is refurbed.

but if it was defective, then the phone will be fixed and resold.

Yes, there's a chance that it could become defective,
but if it' doesn't in the first 90 days, then the chances decrease (like any other phone).

I've gotten refurb phones, and never had problems with it.
